The BTSA has put in place an extensive professional development programme for Primary NQTs. Building on outstanding practice across the teaching school alliance the BTSA supports every aspect of their professional development throughout the year. This programme is delivered by outstanding practitioners who are highly experienced in designing and delivering relevant, engaging and outstanding professional development. Each course provider has a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience, which they will share with NQTs to support them on their journey to become the next generation of outstanding teachers.

Option 2:

Primary NQT Professional Development Programme – all courses included  

£800 per NQT

Option 3:

Option 4:

NQT Primary Professional Development - courses on a sessional basis

 How to book individual courses

To book individual courses, login to Bestbrent then click training. Click on ‘View’ and add details of the course. Once your course is booked the CPD leader or Headteacher/principal must authorise the booking. Please note for all schools that have purchased Option 1 or 2 these will be free of charge.

 Please do not attend a course without booking in advance.


The Brent Teaching School Alliance (BTSA) is a cross phase strategic partnership group, whose core purpose is to meet the school improvement needs of Brent schools.

Byron Court is the lead school for the Brent Teaching School Alliance working with a number of partners including a HEI, Secondary, Primary and other Educational organisations. Our mission is to ensure that through collaboration, innovation, engagement and excellence, standards of teaching and learning are raised, resulting in improved pupil progress and attainment for every pupil in Brent.

The BTSA offers a range of professional development programmes and opportunities. Our aim is to ensure that all staff, whatever their role in school, can access professional development that is appropriate to their current role and which helps them to move forward in their career.
