National Professional Qualification for Middle and Senior Leaders
The Brent Teaching School Alliance (BTSA) is licensed by the Department for Education to offer the outstanding leadership development opportunities provided by the NPQML and the NPQSL programmes. The provision is grounded in high-quality evidence and research. The BTSA ensures that the on-line learning and face to face sessions are of high-quality design and delivery. The DfE Quality Assurance Agents, Tribal recognises the BTSA’s full NPQ provision as “exemplifying outstanding practise”.
The next application round for both development programmes runs from 4th June 2020 to 17th September 2020.
Early application is recommended due to the popularity of these programmes.
Most of the face-to-face sessions take place in the Autumn term (October onwards) to enable participants to benefit from the interaction with the programme material and with the opportunity to discuss, debate and reflect on research, theory and experiences.
Both programmes involve an authentic school improvement activity related to the participant’s leadership role and school’s improvement priorities. NPQML participants will lead a school improvement activity aimed at improving pupil progress and team capability. NPQSL participants will lead a school improvement priority across the whole school to reduce variation in pupil progress and attainment, in addition to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of teaching. The improvement projects enable leaders to demonstrate positive impact and sustainable change within their school, and demonstrate their ability to undertake evidence-based systematic enquiry.
